On 8 December, ESCWA concluded the 21st session of its Committee on Transport and Logistics, which it had opened on 24 November.
The Committee met virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic and dedicated an important part of its proceedings to discussing the pandemic’s impact on air, maritime and road transport in the Arab region.
The Committee also discussed road safety and the role of technology and innovation in improving the transport and logistics sector’s performance. At the closing meeting, participants adopted a set of recommendations to guide the work of ESCWA and member States in the coming year in that sector.
