On 23 September, ESCWA Executive Secretary Rola Dashti joined several world leaders, global champions and experts in a virtual event on "Delivering the UN Common Agenda: Action to Achieve Equality and Inclusion" at a time when inequality and exclusion have played a major role in blocking efforts to successfully contain the COVID-19 pandemic around the globe.
Dashti stressed that a collective determination that includes the public and private sectors is needed to push things forward and create opportunities for the less fortunate.
The event, highlighting the need for greater international cooperation to face the challenges of the 21st century, was hosted by the Center on International Cooperation (CIC) of New York University (NYU).
