During the High-level Political Forum for Sustainable Development (HLPF), ESCWA Executive Secretary Rola Dashti called on investing in low- and middle-income countries to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The Forum, held from 10 to 19 July, under the theme "Accelerating the recovery from the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) and the full implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development at all levels”, provided an opportunity for participants to highlight undertaken efforts to achieve the SDGs and renew commitments to accelerate efforts to achieve the Global Goals.
This year, Bahrain, the Comoros, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia, presented their Voluntary National Reviews (VNRs) highlighting their successes, challenges and lessons learned on the path to achieving the SDGs.
