The first edition of the Arab Mayors Academy concluded its training activities on 5 November with a final meeting titled “Planning for Impact: Integrating Results-Based Management into Community-Planning”, held during the 12th Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF) in Cairo.
Organized by ESCWA, the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat), and the United Cities and Local Governments Middle East and West Asia Section (UCLG-MEWA), the meeting brought together Arab mayors who explored strategies for turning plans into impactful actions, marking an important step toward fostering results-driven and sustainable urban planning in the region.
Launched in July 2024, the Arab Mayors Academy is a pioneering programme that equips city leaders with advanced knowledge and tools to effectively address the region's unique challenges and opportunities in urban development and sustainable development.
