On 7 and 11 July, ESCWA organized 2 events on the sidelines of the 2022 High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF), held from 5 to 15 July in New York.
In a panel on “SDGs in Focus: SDG 5 and interlinkages with other SDGs - Gender equality”, ESCWA Executive Secretary Rola Dashti noted that countries must structurally reform social protection systems to ensure they are sustainable, inclusive and gender-sensitive.
ESCWA also discussed linking VNRs at different levels during a session on “Increased policy coherence and accelerated implementation of the 2030 agenda: The role of voluntary local reviews in complementing the VNR process - experiences from the regions”.
