ESCWA is collaborating with renowned Lebanese actress Carmen Lebbos on the issue of Road Safety through a series of events and awareness campaigns. The partnership kicks off with the participation of Lebbos in the upcoming Launch of the Decade of Action for Road Safety 2010- 2011, to be held under the auspices of caretaker Lebanese Minister of Interior Ziad Baroud on Tuesday 17 May at the UN House in Beirut. The General Assembly proclaimed the period 2011-2020 as the Decade of Action for Road Safety, with the goal of stabilizing and eventually reducing the number of deaths and injuries.
