On 27 April, ESCWA and the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to strengthen collaboration in supporting the Arab region.
Work under the MoU will focus on supporting effective customs modernization and automatization. It will also promote trade facilitation and reforms in the Arab region, and will strengthen collaboration in e-Commerce and the digital economy.
The work will also focus on improving competition and consumer policies in the region, and on developing a sustainable debt financing strategy to enhance fiscal space.
