To ensure the exchange of high-quality, timely, reliable and standardized data, ESCWA, the Arab Institute for Training and Research in Statistics (AITRS), the Statistics Department at the League of Arab States (LAS) and the United Nations Statistics Division (UNSD) organized the 7th regional workshop on the use of Statistical Data and Metadata Exchange (SDMX) for reporting on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The workshop, held in Cairo from 3 to 5 June, focused on enhancing Arab countries’ capacities to exchange national data, and promoting the implementation of SDMX at the national level.

ESCWA will further train countries on the use of the “ESCWA SDMX Converter for SDGs” tool, which improves efficiency and facilitates the exchange, validation, dissemination and reporting of SDG data.
