Considering the political transformations witnessed in the Arab region and the increased importance given to the needs and aspirations of young people, concerted efforts are necessary to get a better understanding of issues facing youth and to address ways to increase their involvement in public affairs.
On 21 and 22 September, ESCWA and the Ministry of Social Development in the Sudan held a workshop providing an opportunity for young people to develop, implement and evaluate their own policies and plans.
Participants shared knowledge and experiences, and discussed ways to reach solutions. The workshop was also a platform for young people to build support groups and expand their professional networks.
