Economic implications of climate change and water scarcity

From 1 to 3 December, ESCWA and the World Bank co-organized a virtual workshop on the economic implications of climate change and water scarcity in the Mashreq region.
 
Participants tackled the implications of climate change and water scarcity on agricultural productivity and their potential impact on the region’s economies. They gained insights about the work of ESCWA in climate modeling and agricultural productivity.
 
The meeting was built on the findings of a previous workshop on Accessing Disruptive Technologies for Improved Water Resources Management under Climate Change, held in January 2020.
