On 29 March, ESCWA, in partnership with the General Information Authority (GIA) in Libya, organized a national capacity-building workshop revolving around strategies and indicators of a digital government transformation.
The workshop highlighted the main concepts of digital government transformation and its impact on sustainable development, and presented examples of best regional and international practices. Participants also discussed the current and planned initiatives of GIA and other agencies related to digital transformation.
ESCWA stressed the need to develop a national strategy and action plan to coordinate efforts in implementing relevant initiatives and projects and raising awareness among government officials about the impact of digital government transformation.
