As part of the global project on “Fostering COVID-19 recovery and SDGs implementation through local action in Asia-Pacific, Arab and African countries”, ESCWA, in partnership with UN-Habitat and Irbid Municipality, launched during a workshop the multi-stakeholders dialogue for the development of the voluntary local review (VLR) of Irbid city.
The workshop, held on 7 and 8 February, focused on enhancing the capacities of the VLR of Irbid to support Jordan’s efforts towards SDG localization. It also highlighted the importance for data collection and for supporting planning and plans for the city.
Participants also exchanged regional and international good practices in developing VLRs and aligning them with national and sub-regional plans and processes.
