As part of its efforts to provide technical assistance to member States, ESCWA organized a workshop in Somalia from 24 to 27 October to initiate the process of developing a national social justice strategy.
Members of Parliament (MPs) were introduced to several tools developed by ESCWA, such as the toolkit for mainstreaming social justice principles in development policies, which aims to enhance the capacities of policymakers to integrate social justice into national development policies.
Participants discussed a proposed roadmap for parliament to work on social justice, and agreed to further develop it with ESCWA in the coming weeks.
