National disability strategies and policies are an important tool to align national frameworks with the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD). They help build the policy and legal frameworks to pass laws, programmes and initiatives to ensure the rights of persons with disabilities.
On 12 and 13 June, ESCWA and the National Disability Agency (NDA) in Somalia held a workshop to validate the development of the national disability strategy in the country (2024-2028).
Participants discussed the general framework of the strategy, which will contribute to improving the situation of persons with disabilities and upgrading their quality of life.
