On 8 and 9 November, ESCWA and the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) organized a seminar on the contribution of development to the enjoyment of all human rights in Arabic-speaking countries at the UN House in Beirut.
Representatives from UN agencies, regional and international organizations, national human rights institutions and civil society organizations discussed the challenges and gaps hindering the contribution of development to the enjoyment of human rights, and shared best practices and experiences to tackle impediments.
A report on this and other regional seminars will be presented at the fifty-fourth session of the Human Rights Council.
