On 21 and 22 June, ESCWA held a workshop on climate finance for the water sector, as part of the Mashreq Waters Knowledge Series conducted with the support of the World Bank. The workshop, held in Beirut, gathered relevant senior officials and technical experts.
Together they identified the challenges and opportunities of climate finance, and ways to use economic tools to improve water resource management while promoting regional collaboration.
Participants also suggested regional pathways to address climate change based on knowledge exchange, good governance and institutions, and proper investment.
