ESCWA, in cooperation with the Ministry of Social Development in Sudan, held a workshop on “Building Partnership Capacity in Democratic Governance in the Republic of the Sudan.”
The workshop, held on 28 and 29 June, targeted thirty-three participants from the technical work team formed by the Ministry - including representatives from several ministries. It aimed to train participants to cope during transitional periods, and to formulate a new social contract between the citizen and the state based on the principles of democracy, citizenship and human rights.
The workshop focused on four competencies selected from the training manual prepared by ESCWA, titled "Building Capacity For partnership in Democratic Governance", which contains nine core competencies to strengthen collaboration during democratic transitions.
