Given the important role big data plays in developing innovative data-based applications that would allow policymakers to build informed and evidence-based policies, ESCWA organized a capacity-building workshop on 7 December, in partnership with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology in Qatar.
ESCWA highlighted the main concepts of big data and their relationship with digital transformation policies, as well as the national readiness assessment framework and few applications it developed based on big data.
The workshop was attended by representatives of public institutions involved in the development and implementation of digital policies, small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and academia.
