On 29 and 30 May, ESCWA organized in Jordan a dialogue with representatives of Arab Parliaments to provide them with an overview of the regional review of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, thirty years after its adoption.
Participants exchanged experiences and best practices on the role of Parliaments and their contribution to advancing women's issues in the region and monitoring progress towards the implementation of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action.
Also in Amman, the Regional Commission held on 27 and 28 May a civil society consultation on the Declaration regional review. It focused on the contribution of civil society to the progress made, challenges faced, and lessons learned.
