To provide a periodic platform for dialogue between various stakeholders and exchange experiences on environmental issues, ESCWA, the League of Arab States (LAS) and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) held the first edition of the Arab Environmental Forum.
The Forum, which took place on 18 and 19 October in Cairo, reviewed the Arab vision on issues to be raised during upcoming international processes and events, including the 27th Conference of the Parties (COP 27) on climate change, and the upcoming UN Biodiversity Conference.
Ministers and high-level representatives from the public and private sectors took part in the talks, as well as participants from civil society, regional and national organizations, the United Nations and other experts.
