To address the root causes of crises, build resilience and provide long-term solutions towards lasting peace, ESCWA, the League of Arab States (LAS) and the UN Trust Fund for Human Security (UNTFHS) organized a meeting on “operationalizing the triple nexus through a risk-informed human security approach”.
The meeting, held on 26 June in Cairo, aimed to operationalize the humanitarian-development-peacebuilding (HDP) nexus through a risk-informed human security approach. Deliberations addressed national development priorities of member States in advancing their transitions towards recovery and stability, and thus, advancing their achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Participants examined lessons learned from global experiences on implementing the triple nexus approach and addressed tools, techniques and national mechanisms for its implementation.
