To allow member States to share knowledge and experience in the matter of disability, ESCWA organized on 18 and 19 October the 7th annual meeting of the Intersessional Group of Experts on Disability at the UN House in Beirut.
Participants discussed challenges faced when implementing the provisions of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD), proposed recommendations in response to these challenges and shared best practices.
The meeting was an opportunity for ESCWA to brief member states on its current activities, and to discuss a proposed action plan for the upcoming year.
