On 16 and 17 November, the ESCWA Statistical Committee held its fifteenth session in Beirut, during which it followed up on progress in statistical activities in member States and the ESCWA secretariat since its previous session.
The Committee also discussed the evolution of purchasing power parities, as well as better ways to monitor progress in achieving the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, and integrating geospatial information and statistics in this regard.
The Committee was tasked to follow up on the progress of member States in developing their statistical systems. It also assesses international systems and projects in order to adapt them to the needs and priorities of member States.
