The national workshop on open government and open data for Syria focused on building the capacities of participants, on open government and open data based on the ESCWA framework on open government and the Tunisian experience on open data development.
The workshop was organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Communications and Technology. Participants included representatives from various ministries, public institutions, academia, private sector and NGOs.
It included sessions on the ESCWA framework for open government and its legal aspects. Session on open data focused on concepts, strategic and organizational aspects in preparing an action plan, priority sectors, data management and inventory and data reuse, and was supported by examples reflecting the Tunisian experience.
