ESCWA Social Protection Team is working with the Ministry of Social Solidarity (MoSS) in Egypt on developing two major social assistance tools and providing guidance to MoSS staff and consultants on their use.
The tools are:
- Country-Driven Social Protection Optimization Toolbox (CD-SPOT): It enables the optimal adjustment of social assistance design parameters such as eligibility criteria, enrolment cut-off points and benefit levels to strengthen the pro-poor management of social assistance.
- Automatic profiling of the Takaful and Karama Programme beneficiaries: It groups social assistance beneficiaries marked by distinct sets of vulnerabilities to improve the Programme’s targeting accuracy and ensure inclusiveness, as well as support the graduation of beneficiaries.
