The United Nations Economic Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), in partnership with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and the Westminster Foundation for Democracy, conducted a regional capacity-building workshop on the "Guidelines to Estimate the Economic Cost of Domestic Violence in the Arab Region".
This workshop, which was held at the United Nations House in Beirut on 5-6 September 2019, brought together representatives of national mechanisms for the advancement of women as well as gender focal points of the national statistical offices in the Arab countries, with the aim of introducing them to these guidelines which are intended for government officials, programme managers and researchers seeking to estimate the cost of Domestic Violence in the Arab region.
