Within the framework of the Mashreq Waters Knowledge Series, the World Bank and ESCWA are organizing a meeting to identify challenges and opportunities to overcome water pollution and freshwater biodiversity loss for the sustainable management of water resources in the region.
The meeting brings together senior officials and technical experts from government institutions responsible for water and the environment from Iraq, the Islamic Republic of Iran, Jordan, Lebanon, the Syrian Arab Republic and Türkiye. This includes representatives from ministries and agencies responsible for water resource management, water services and the environment. The meeting is also supported by resource personnel from expert institutions and experts from the World Bank, United Nations organizations and international organizations.
