The United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) and ESCWA, in partnership with the United Nations regional commissions and various other organizations, are hosting an expert meeting on the quantification of South-South cooperation.

The event is a continuation of efforts under the United Nations Development Account project aimed at quantifying South-South cooperation to mobilize funds for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The meeting is aimed at encouraging dialogue among Southern countries to enable them to autonomously collect and report data through their systems. It is expected to influence national policymaking and strengthen strategic management of development support within the Global South.

Target participants include national, regional and international specialists in South-South cooperation and its measurement, representing development agencies, statistical bureaus, and government ministries.
