ESCWA is celebrating the International Day for Biodiversity 2024 by focusing on this year’s theme "Be part of the Plan", which calls upon stakeholders to take action against biodiversity loss by supporting the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework. The meeting brings together the three working group convenors of the Multi-Stakeholder Platform for Protecting Biodiversity to discuss the platform's pivotal role in fostering collaboration and engaging stakeholders in developing actionable projects for biodiversity protection and climate resilience.
The objectives of the meeting include:
- Celebrating the International Day for Biodiversity and raising awareness on biodiversity conservation in the Arab region;
- Discussing the role and functions of the Multi-stakeholder Platform for Protecting Biodiversity;
- Facilitating exchange among working group convenors on fostering stakeholder engagement in biodiversity conservation.
