Within the framework of the United Nations Road Safety Fund project on reducing road deaths and injuries in Jordan through increasing restraint use, ESCWA is organizing a training workshop to increase trainers’ knowledge on the importance of using seatbelts and restraints for children.
The objectives of the training of trainers workshop include:
- Raising the awareness of police officers on the importance of seatbelt wearing and child seat use in reducing the risks of injuries;
- Explaining the developed seatbelt and child restraint regulatory framework and its implementation, and getting acquainted with the technology and the proper usage of restraint systems;
- Enabling police officers to translate learned information into action, and to set up safe and effective checkpoints;
- Delivering key road safety and road user improvement messages.
