As part of the regional preparations to review progress in the implementation of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action thirty years after its adoption (Beijing +30) in 1995 at the Fourth World Conference on Women, ESCWA is partnering with the UN-Women Regional Office for Arab States and the League of Arab States to conduct a regional consultation workshop for civil society organizations.
The workshop is aimed discussing progress in the implementation of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action in the Arab region, and at highlighting the contributions of national and regional civil society organizations in this regard. It also addresses the challenges faced in the implementation process and their implications for the role of civil society in achieving the desired progress.
The workshop concludes with an outcome document to be presented to the high-level meeting on Beijing+30 in December 2024.
