Policy Options for Promoting Green Technologies in the Arab Region
January 2019
The Arab region still lags behind in the development of green technology and more efforts are still needed. Stable policy and regulatory frameworks attract investors and enable a faster and more efficient transition towards green technology adoption. The effective implementation of these economic and financial policies requires strong political will, available and reliable data for evidence-based policy-making, monitoring and evaluation mechanisms, as well as the trust of all involved actors. Moving towards a sustainable and green economy through the adoption of green technologies requires investment not only from the government but also from the private sector.
