Financing Sustainable Development (progress and prospects) Global Trends vs. Regional Realities
January 2018
The present report captures the salient outcomes of the first joint assessment of progress achieved in financing sustainable development undertaken by the Inter-Agency Task Force on Financing for Development (comprising more than 50 United Nations specialized agencies, programmes, institutions, entities and regional commissions).
The report contrasts global outcomes with the specificities of the Arab regions’ geopolitical contexts and socioeconomic idiosyncrasies and provides a regional assessment of financing for development, considering the priorities articulated through the ‘Beirut Consensus’ adopted by the High-Level Conference on Financing Sustainable Development (Beirut, November 28-29 November 2018).
