Given the critical role that young people can play in shaping the future of energy and stimulating innovative ideas, capacities and inclusiveness, ESCWA organized on 9 July a youth focus group discussion to explore questions from its recent human capital survey.
The survey gathered information from over 420 respondents, representing every Arab country, on the opportunities, challenges, social barriers, skill gaps, and other considerations around studying and working in the field of sustainable energy or related sectors.
Insights from the group will be highlighted in an upcoming ESCWA publication on “Investing in the Future: The Role of Human Capital in Enabling the Just Energy Transition”.
