Promoting Green Energy Technology Market in Rural Areas is the title of a workshop ESCWA is organizing on 24-25 May 2016, at the UN-House in Beirut.
The Workshop, which will open at 9:30 tomorrow Tuesday 24 May 2016, aims at building the capacity of the public sector in Arab countries in order to enhance the sustainability of renewable energy penetration in rural areas by fostering sustainable renewable energy markets. The Workshop opens with remarks by Radia Sedaoui, Chief of the ESCWA Energy Section.
Participants in the Workshop are public sector representatives including energy experts, policy makers, rural social developers and development planners. They represent Jordan, Mauritania, Morocco, Oman and Sudan. Over the span of two days, they will discuss off-grid electrification; countries’ experiences; developing a winning business model; bioenergy for sustainable rural development project; and biomass energy as the basis for a rural energy service enterprise.
