As part of the Josour initiative launched by ESCWA last May, the first meeting of Josour Lebanon was held on 18 July, followed by the first meeting of Josour Jordan on 21 July with stakeholders from the education and private sectors.
Participants discussed the workplan, defined criteria for membership in the initiative, and identified roles and responsibilities. They also expressed their willingness to provide training, job opportunities, and guidance for the youth.
Josour is a regional initiative, in which partners will work on facilitating dialogue between youth and employers; providing trainings for young people to prepare them for the future of work; and identifying and addressing prejudicial attitudes towards women and persons with disabilities in the labour market.
