At the UN climate change conference (COP28) hosted by the United Arab Emirates from 30 November to 12 December, ESCWA organized sessions dedicated to climate action in the Arab region, sustainable energy, and other topics. Additionally, ESCWA representatives actively participated in other events throughout the conference.
Meanwhile, ESCWA Executive Secretary Rola Dashti took part in several key events, underscoring the imperative to enhance the capacities of the Arab region in addressing climate change issues and aligning them with national and regional needs.
Other sessions held by ESCWA revolved around financing for climate action, accelerating the implementation of related programmes, and increasing the resilience of the most vulnerable groups.
