In December, ESCWA, the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development (AOAD), and the League of Arab States (LAS) organized in Cairo a workshop on Climate Action Priorities in Arab Agriculture: Challenges and Opportunities.
Several Arab agricultural experts from ministries and national agricultural research centres in the region participated in the workshop. Information and experiences were exchanged to improve Arab climate action in the sector.
One of the main recommendations of the workshop was the need to develop national strategies and plans to deal with national changes, especially in the agriculture and water sectors, as well as the need to link climate action programmes in the Paris Agreement with implementation tools for technology and finance.
