On 29 March, within the activities of the MENA Climate Week 2022, ESCWA, the League of Arab States (LAS), the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and UNESCO, organized a regional training entitled Capacity Development for Climate Change Negotiations for Arab Countries.
The event showcased ongoing initiatives and partnerships among international, regional and national agencies to close existing adaptation knowledge gaps on climate change in the region with a focus on smart agriculture and nature-based solutions.
The workshop aimed at supporting Arab States in the implementation of the recent decisions taken at the 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP 26) and ones related to adaptation, mitigation, finance and technology.
