Workshop on Micro-insurance as a Mechanism for Social Protection for the Agricultural Sector in Lebanon

In the framework of its current focus on extending social protection in Arab countries, the Social Policy Section in the Social Development Division of the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), is organizing a workshop on microinsurance as a mechanism for social protection for the agricultural sector in Lebanon. The workshop will be held at the UN House in Beirut on the 1st October 2013 from 8:30 to 14:00.
The objective of this workshop is to increase the awareness of microinsurance and build the capacity of officials and NGOs to explore available design options for microinsurance. The workshop will provide an opportunity to learn about agricultural microinsurance with the aim of exploring the applicability of microinsurance to the Lebanese setting.
