Within the context of its work on sustainable energy the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia is organizing four sub-regional training of trainers’ (TOT) workshops on “Mainstreaming Appropriate Renewable Energy Technology in the Rural Productive Sectors of the Arab Region” The first workshop will be held in Jordan (17-18 May 2015), Morocco (25-26 May 2015), Oman (1-2 June 2015), and Sudan (8-9 June 2015).
The workshops are organized within the framework of the Development Account (DA) project on “Building Capacities in Developing Appropriate Green Technologies for Improving the Livelihood of Rural Communities in the ESCWA Region”.
These two-day skill-building and knowledge sharingworkshopsaim at development-planners and experts in institutions geared towards rural development as well as policy makers. Participants from neighboring countries or from countries with similar development challenge will be invited to the workshop thus helping to disseminate the knowledge to the whole region.
