Within the Framework of collaboration between the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) and the American University of Beirut (AUB), the ESCWA-Sustainable Development Policies Division (SDPD) and the AUB-Munib and Angela Masri Institute of Energy and Natural Resources are upholding a lectures series upon agreed on important energy issues in the |Arab region.
In this context, the first lecture will focus on “Oil Price Fluctuations & Future Energy Market Prospects” to be held on the 19th April 2016 at AUB campus. The lecture is an attempt to make some sense of the oil market behavior and price fluctuation that is felt by every Arab country, either directly or indirectly, and will analyze the implications of falling oil prices on the natural gas market.
In addition, we are starting to see positive changes, though still limited, in people’s attitude toward owning an electric vehicle. Should an infrastructure growth supporting these vehicles accompany the growth in electric vehicle sales, consumers’ confidence will certainly be strengthened and electric vehicles will certainly gain market shares. What possible repercussions would fall on the oil market from such disruptive transport technology?
