ESCWA, acting as the secretariat of the Working Group on International Migration in the Arab region, convened an Expert Group Meeting (EGM) on the “2019 Situation Report on International Migration in the Arab Region” (SRIM 2019), at the United Nations House in Beirut, on the 15th April 2019.The meeting was held in the context of preparing for the third edition of the Situation Report on International Migration. The report will provide a multi-disciplinary and comprehensive overview of relevant contemporary migration trends and patterns, a compendium of developments in migration governance in the region, and an analysis of the policy implications of the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration.
