This meeting takes place at the level of decision-makers in charge of establishing a reconstruction and development strategy for Yemen. It is the initiative of ESCWA in full coordination with the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation in Yemen. This high-level meeting comes within a series of activities and meetings organized by ESCWA in order to reach a common strategic vision among the various official authorities of Yemen and specifically the ministries involved in the process of reconstruction, development and reconciliation and to seek to translate this vision into programs, plans and policies.
The meeting particularly aims to put first forward and discuss the major challenges, needs, suggestions and priorities at different sectoral and ministerial levels in Yemen. Second, the outputs of this debate will help on rethinking and reframing the reconstruction and development strategy to secure inclusivity, complementarity and interconnectivity among the ministerial plans at different sectors and levels (local, regional, national).
