ESCWA is organizing a side event on “Food systems transformation amid a polycrisis: addressing climate, food insecurity, malnutrition and conflicts”, during the United Nations Food Systems Summit + 2 Stocktaking Moment. The event is held in collaboration with the Arab Organization for Agriculture Development, the Coalition of Action on Healthy Diets from Sustainable Food Systems for Children and All, the Climate Resilient Food Systems Alliance, the Fighting Food Crises along the HDP Nexus Coalition, and the Social Protection and Food Systems Transformation Coalition, with support from the Government of Sweden.
The side event aims to facilitate discussions on food systems in fragile settings, and provide a space for affected countries to share their experiences in implementing actions that address drivers of crises. It also offers insights on means of implementation, and context-driven solutions to transform food systems and enhance their resilience and sustainability.
