The eighteenth regional training workshop on capacity development for climate change negotiations for the Arab countries aims to discuss outcomes of the Bonn Climate Change Conference (SB 60); the current status of negotiations on climate finance within the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change and the Paris Agreement; opportunities for partnering with the global financial sector to accelerate the mobilization of private sector finance for the transition to more sustainable and inclusive economies in the Arab region; and the preparation of regional positions and priorities for the 29th meeting of the Conference of the Parties (COP 29).
Participants include junior and senior negotiators from Arab countries with hands-on experience in serving on national negotiation teams. Arab Governments are invited to nominate and include in their delegations to the workshop junior negotiators who are qualified to become members of future national negotiation teams.
