Crop consumptive water use
Definition:

The total water used for evapotranspiration and cell construction (beneficial consumption), from planting to harvest for a given crop in a specific climate regime. It also includes the water evaporated or transpired for purposes other than the intended use, i.e. non-beneficial consumption as evaporation from water surfaces, unwanted riparian vegetation and wet soil, etc.
