Multidimensional Poverty Profile: Morocco

January 2018

The paper provides in-depth analysis of the prevalence, distribution (geographical and by gender, among other household socio-economic characteristics), and severity of multidimensional poverty in Morocco. The paper makes use of the Arab Multidimensional Poverty Index Methodology and data from the Pan Arab Project for Family Health (PAPFAM) for Morocco in 2011, a survey conducted by the League of Arab States.
It is one of several country profiles prepared by ESCWA as background papers for the Arab Multidimensional Poverty Report making use of the new Multidimensional Poverty Index proposed for the Arab Region.
