Memorandum of Understanding on Maritime Transport Cooperation in the Arab Mashreq

The Memorandum of Understanding on Maritime Transport Cooperation in the Arab Mashreq is an endeavor to establish cooperation and integration between members of ESCWA in the Arab Mashreq region. This Memorandum recognizes that maritime transport plays an important role in strengthening intraregional and foreign trade and promotes the economic and social integration of the ESCWA region and the Arab region in general. In this context, the parties to this Memorandum of Understanding have agreed on 22 articles, which are believed to ensure the systematic development of the national merchant fleets of the region and the balanced development of maritime transport and seaports.
