Guidelines on the Legislative and Institutional Reforms Needed for the Implementation of Integrated Water Resource Management at the National Level in the ESCWA Region

These guidelines are based on a general review of existing institutional and legislative systems governing the management of the water sector in ESCWA member countries, in-depth case studies and lessons learned from selected countries. The guidelines propose the most feasible and realistic institutional arrangements and legislative reforms needed in order to realize the implementation of integrated water resource management in the ESCWA region, taking into account the socio-economic, cultural, political and environmental specificities of the region.
